Angel and the BEAST
My post on Roland FANTOM - Roland FANTOM Flagship Workstation Synthesizer Keyboard
Roland's way of putting together panels on synthesizers is logical, intuitive and easy to work with. All the controls are in the right places for performance ability. The controls are programmable and assignable for anything we want - offering extensive control over what we are doing and providing an incredibly flexible platform for sound design, studio work and live performance....

My article on Roland FANTOM - Updating my studio with Roland Fantom Workstation
Top Reasons to Buy the Roland Fantom! | Overview
4 partials per tone
Each partial has its own oscillator, filter, amplifier, envelopes, effects, 2 LFOs...
16 tones per scene (16 layered instruments simultaneously)
=> Each scene can have up to 64 oscillators and 128 LFOs!
(it has 4 chips to process and do all that heavy lifting without glitching or crackling - one chip dedicated entirely to V-Piano engine)
128 Scenes x 4 Banks => 512 scenes total
NOTE: Synthesizers have a meter reading showing when it is maxing out on memory. Well, Roland eliminated the meter from Fantom saying that it will never have the issue of maxing out on resources.
2GB internal memory to store our samples and tones.
Interactive large 7β touch-screen workstation

iPad Pro Buying Guide
Confused whether to go for 11" or 12.9" iPad Pro?
I bought both these sizes in 2018, used them for over a month and evaluated their usabilities. I wrote a detailed article comparing both editions here -
https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/3...9-2018-dilemma
Hope this helps...
What do you guys think and what are your experiences with these sizes?
Cheers!
PS: Apple seems to be working on a 12" iPad Pro this year. If this is real, more work for developers again optimizing their apps -

AUv3 has changed the picture. Most DAW apps don't have great-sounding instruments and effects but that isn't an issue anymore as we could use AU synths and effects that are good at what they do - produce great sounds and allow us to tweak them deeply. Apparently, Apple is going to add more fun modules to GarageBand such as Beat Sequencer, Live Loops, Drummer... (rather than adding more advanced features) to keep it simple for most users.- GarageBand - fun app in iOS only (FREE)
- Cubasis - easy-to-use app on iOS and Android
- Auria Pro - powerful app on iOS only
- ZenBeats - iOS and Android (FREE)
BeatMaker 3 is great for people who are oriented towards MPC-style apps.
Gadget is great for tracker-style lovers (a closed, non-AU system).
FL Studio Mobile is a closed system too but could catch up over time.
We can import -- GarageBand projects into its desktop counter parts - GarageBand and Logic Pro.
- Cubasis projects into desktop Cubase.
- ZenBeats projects into desktop ZenBeats.
- FL Studio Mobile projects into desktop FL Studio.
- Gadget projects into desktop Gadget.
You don't need a ton of DAW apps - just get one that suits your needs and personality and get really good at using it. Some people use GarageBand for producing full albums from start to finish and also for creating podcasts. I know someone who uses GB for voice-recording (dictation) at workplace!
I look at the company that is making the app - their successful track record in developing and maintaining apps and giving users stable apps that are bug-free. I also look at the UI/UX of the app - if it is elegant, modern-looking and usable or not. I prefer ease-of-use so I can focus on my work.
